Canadian cookie treats

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
½ cup Butter
½ cup Shortening
cup Sugar
1 Egg
1 teaspoon Vanilla
cup Flour
½ teaspoon Salt
1 cup Choc. chips
½ cup Broken pecans
½ cup Flaked coconut
½ cup Chopped marachino cherries
Icing:
1 cup Powder sugar
¼ teaspoon Almond extract
2 tablespoons Marachino cherry juice

Directions

Beat butter, sugar and shortening until fluffy.Beat in egg and vanilla.

Sift dry ingrdients and blend in.Dough will be stiff. blend in chocolate, nuts and fruits. Press into a grease 10 x 15 x 1 pan. bake 350 for 20 minutes or done. Cool to warm and spread on icing. Cut when warm and recut when cool.
