Cheese-date biscuits

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
½ cup Butter Or Margarine
2 cups N.Y. State Cheese (Sharp Cheddar); grated
cup Flour
1 dash Cayenne Pepper
1 teaspoon Sugar
1 pack (8 Oz.) Dates; cut into small pcs.
2 tablespoons Water
1 tablespoon Sugar

Directions

DOUGH

FILLING

FOR THE DOUGH:

Mix first 3 ingredients thoroughly. Add cayenne pepper and sugar. Mix well.

FOR THE FILLING:

Mix these ingredients well and cook 3 minutes.

TO ASSEMBLE:

Roll cheese dough thinly; cut with biscuit cutter. Spread date mixture on each round; fold over and press edges to seal. Bake at 375° for 15 to 20 minutes.

Makes about 40 biscuits.
