Crackling biscuits

½ | pack | Yeast |
1 | teaspoon | Sugar |
1 | teaspoon | Salt |
2 | tablespoons | Lukewarm water |
1 | teaspoon | Pepper |
1 | Egg yolk | |
½ | cup | Sour cream |
2 | cups | Flour |
2 | Eggs | |
1 | cup | Cracklings or crisp chopped bacon |
Directions
Soak the yeast in lukewarm water with sugar. After 15 minutes, blend in salt, pepper, whole eggs, cracklings and cream. Stir in the flour and knead well. Roll out ½ inch thick. Cut into 2 inch rounds and arrange on an ungreased baking sheet. Make diagonal cuts on top of each biscuit, brush with egg yolk and let rise in warm place for 30 minutes.
