Cyn's lentil soup

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 Bag dried lentils; rinsed & drained
1 cup Each diced carrots; celery, onion
1 tablespoon Minced garlic
6 tablespoons (or maybe more) veggie broth powder
Thyme
Crushed cumin seed
Bay leaves
Pepper
1 can (large) tomato paste
3 tablespoons Garam masala; or more
Lots of water; (to cover, I kept adding)

Directions

Simmer for 1-2 hours, throw in a cup or so of rice. Add more water as rice swells, and more seasoning to taste. Hot sauce is a good thing. Simmer until rice is done.
