Flemish carbonades

Ingredients

2 | pounds | Beef chuck cut into 1 inch cubes; (up to 3) |
1 | Onion thinly sliced; (I used 2) | |
1 | teaspoon | Salt |
1 | dash | Pepper |
2 | teaspoons | Brown sugar |
1 | Clove garlic; minced, (I used 2:) | |
1 | can | (12 oz) beer (I used Becks) |
2 | slices | Bacon; cooked and crumbled, (I used 4, it was pretty thin:)) |
3 | tablespoons | Cornstarch |
¼ | cup | Water |
Cooked noodles |
Directions
In crockpot combine meat, onion, salt, pepper, br sugar, garlic, beer and bacon. Cook on low for 5 to 7 hours. Turn control to high. Dissolve cornstarch in water and stir into meat mixture. Cook on high for 20 to 30 min til slightly thickened. Serve over noodles.
