1½ | cup | Shortening |

12 | ounces | Molasses |
1½ | tablespoon | White vinegar |
6½ | cup | All purpose flour |
2¼ | teaspoon | Baking soda |
½ | teaspoon | Salt |
3 | tablespoons | Ground ginger |
3 | To 4 teaspoons ground | |
Cloves |
Directions
Cream sugar and shortening. Add egg and beat. Beat in molasses and vinegar. Sift together baking soda, salt, ginger, cloves, cinnamon.
Add to mix and cream. Add flour all at once and stir just until flour is blended. Refrigerate until ready to use. This dough must be used CHILLED.
