Ginger dough

Ingredients

cup Granulated sugar
cup Shortening
1 Egg
12 ounces Molasses
tablespoon White vinegar
cup All purpose flour
teaspoon Baking soda
½ teaspoon Salt
3 tablespoons Ground ginger
3 To 4 teaspoons ground
Cloves

Directions

Cream sugar and shortening. Add egg and beat. Beat in molasses and vinegar. Sift together baking soda, salt, ginger, cloves, cinnamon.

Add to mix and cream. Add flour all at once and stir just until flour is blended. Refrigerate until ready to use. This dough must be used CHILLED.
