1 | pounds | Lean beef, cut in 1 inch cubes |

2 | eaches | Cloves garlic, minced |
6 | cups | Beef broth |
1 | tablespoon | Lemon juice |
¼ | teaspoon | Caraway seeds |
cc | Potatoes (optional) |
Directions

Saute onion in shortening until transparent. Add green peppers and tomato paste. Cover and simmer 10 minutes. Add beef, pepper, paprika, garlic, broth, lemon juice, and caraway seeds. Simmer about 1½ hours, until meat is tender. (Add potatoes, if you like, and simmer until potatoes are tender.) Best when reheated and served the second day. Serves 6
