Oven scones (aunt b's)

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
8 ounces Flour
ounce Butter
Pinch of salt
1 teaspoon Castor sugar
½ teaspoon Bicarbonate of soda
1 teaspoon Cream of tartar
1 Egg
Milk

Directions

Sift together flour,salt,soda and cream of tartar.Rub in the bytter lightly,add sugar,then mix to a soft,elastic dough with the unbeaten egg and a little milk.Turn on to a floured board,an handling lightly,knead,then roll out to ¾ inch thickness.Cut into rounds and place on a greased oven tray.Bake in a hot oven 425 degrees F.(Regulo mark 7) for 10 to 15 minutes.
