Ruth's sour cream candy

1 | cup | Sour cream |
2 | cups | Light brown sugar |
1 | cup | Chopped walnuts or pecans |
1 | teaspoon | Vanilla |
Directions
Spray a large rectange of waxed paper with vegetable oil spray. Combine the sour cream and brown sugar in a medium-size heavy saucepan, bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, and boil until it reaches soft ball stage (238°) on a candy thermometer.
Remove the pan from the heat and beat the mixture until it is creamy (this can take a long time). Stir in the nuts and vanilla and drop by teaspoonsful onto the prepared waxed paper.
