Smoky black bean and corn chowder

Ingredients

½ | cup | Yellow Onions; Chopped |
4 | tablespoons | Butter Or Margarine; Melted |
¼ | cup | All-Purpose Flour |
¼ | teaspoon | Black Pepper; Freshly Ground |
1¼ | teaspoon | Salt |
4 | cups | Milk |
17 | ounces | Whole Kernel Corn; Canned, Drained |
4 | Smoked Sausage Links; Sliced | |
8 | ounces | Black Beans; Canned, Drained |
Directions
In a saucepan, sauté onion in butter until tender but not brown. Stir in flour, salt and black pepper. Add milk, and bring to a boil, stirring constantly until thick and bubbly, about 1 minute. Stir in drained corn, sausage slices and drained black beans. Reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
Serving Ideas : With Fresh baked bread NOTES : Just about any smoked meat can be substituted for the Smoked Sausage Links.
