Southern fried chicken

1 | cup | Cream or milk |
2 | tablespoons | ;Water |
2 | Eggs | |
2 | cups | Flour |
Salt and pepper; to taste | ||
½ | teaspoon | Paprika |
1 | cup | Bacon fat |
1 | cup | Shortening |
1 | tablespoon | Butter |
Directions
Cut chicken into frying pieces. Add salt and pepper to chicken. Set aside for 15 minutes. Mix cream, water and eggs; beat. Pour cream mixture over chicken and allow to soak for one hour. Add paprika to flour, then roll chicken in flour. Melt bacon fat, shortening and butter in skillet. Drop chicken in hot grease and fry on medium heat until golden brown.
Yield: 4 to 6 servings.
