Ingredients

3 | tablespoons | Vegetable oil or bacon |

1 | medium | Onion; sliced |
1½ | pounds | Potatoes |
Salt & pepper to taste | ||
6 | ounces | Meat; left-over, cooked |

2 | ounces | Cheese; grated |
Directions
Put the fat in a heavy bottomed saucepan and fry the onion gently for 2 to 3 minutes. Peel the potatoes, slice thickly and add to the pan with a little salt and pepper. Cover and cook very gently for about an hour until the potatoes are cooked through. Remove from the heat.
Stir the mixture of onions and potatoes then pile on to a warm serving dish. Serve with slices of cold cooked meat. As an alternative, sprinkle the mixture with cheese and brown under a hot grill. A good simple supper dish.
