Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
¾ cup Butter
4 tablespoons Powdered sugar
2 teaspoons Vanilla
1 teaspoon Cold water
2 cups Sifted all-purpose flour
teaspoon Salt
1 cup Finely chopped pecans or walnuts Powdered sugar

Directions

Cream butter until fluffy, then add sugar, vanilla and cold water. Mix thoroughly and stir in flour, salt and nuts. Shape into a roll about 1½ inches in diameter. Wrap in waxed paper and chill thoroughly.

Cut in ¼ inch slices and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in a 400 degree oven for about 6 to 8 minutes or until lightly browned.

Remove from baking sheet and roll in powdered sugar, if desired.

Makes 3 ½ to 4 dozen cookies. (These may be made into small balls also and baked for about 8 to 10 minutes. They should be rolled in sugar the same as the others.) Submitted By BARRY WEINSTEIN On 04-06-95
