1½ | teaspoon | Cinnamon |
1 | teaspoon | Baking powder |
½ | teaspoon | Baking soda |
¼ | teaspoon | Salt |
½ | cup | Margarine; calorie-reduced softened |
2 | Eggs | |
1 | teaspoon | Vanilla |
¾ | cup | Sugar substitute; Splenda |
1 | large | Apple; grated, unpeeled |
¼ | cup | Applesauce; unsweetened |
⅓ | cup | Walnuts; chopped, divided |
Directions
Stir together flour, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda and salt; set aside. Beat margarine until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla and beat well. Beat in sugar substitute for about 1 minute. Add flour mixture, apple and applesauce; beat until well-blended. Stir in ¼ cup walnuts.
Spread evenly in greased 8-inch square baking pan. Sprinkle with remaining nuts. Bake at 350F for about 40 minutes or until tester inserted in centre comes out clean. Cool.
Cut into bars.
