Applesauce cookies

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
¾ cup Soft shortening
1 cup Brown sugar, packed
1 Egg
½ cup Applesauce
cup Flour
½ teaspoon Soda
½ teaspoon Salt
¾ teaspoon Cinnamon
¼ teaspoon Cloves
1 cup Seedless raisins
½ cup Chopped nuts

Directions

Heat oven to 375 (quick mod.). Mix shortening, sugar and egg thoroughly. Stir in applesauce. Measure flour by dip-level-pour method or by sifting. Blend dry ingredients; stir in. Mix in raisins and nuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheet. Bake 10 to 12 min.

Makes 4 dozen cookies.
