Biscuits for two

Ingredients

1 | cup | Flour |
2½ | teaspoon | Baking powder |
1 | teaspoon | Sugar |
½ | teaspoon | Salt |
⅛ | teaspoon | Cream of tartar |
¼ | cup | Shortening |
½ | cup | Milk |
Directions
In a bowl, combine dry ingredients. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in milk. Turn onto a floured board; knead 1 minute. Roll or pat dough to ½" thickness. Cut with a floured 2½" biscuit cutter. Place on a greased baking sheet. Bake at 450 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
