Candied yam with coconut

Ingredients

3 | mediums | Louisiana yams |
⅓ | cup | Brown sugar; firmly packed |
½ | cup | Hot water |
¼ | teaspoon | Salt |
3 | tablespoons | Butter or margarine; melted |
¼ | cup | Coconut; shredded |
Directions
Cook yams in skins until nearly tender. Peel and halve. Arrange in greased shallow 1-quart baking pan. Combine sugar, water, salt, and butter; pour over yams. Bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) 15 minutes, basting occasionally. Sprinkle top with coconut; bake 10 minutes longer, or until lightly browned.
