Caramel refrigerator cookies

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
½ cup Shortening (part butter)
1 cup Brown sugar
1 Egg
½ teaspoon Vanilla
1¾ cup Flour
½ teaspoon Soda
¼ teaspoon Salt

Directions

Mix shortening, sugar, egg & vanilla. Stir in flour, soda & salt.

Wrap in wax paper. Chill until firm. Heat oven to 400. Cut in ⅛" slices. Place on ungreased sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes.
