Directions
Wash and peel oranges. Cut peel into strips. Trim the white part if it is especially thick, or just use different oranges. Some white is fine. Let peel strips dry for a day.
Blanch the strips and discard the water. If the blanching water is very bitter, repeat this step onc e more. Cook the strips in sugar syrup til they begin to look translucent. Remove to a rack placed over waxed paper to catch the drips and let dry. When dry, dip 3/4ths of each strip into melted, tempered bittersweet chocolate and return to the rack.
Sorry this isn't a more precise recipe, but that's how it is with grandmothers.
