Easy no-fail pie crust

1¾ | cup | Vegetable shortening |
1 | tablespoon | Granulated sugar |
2 | teaspoons | Salt |
½ | cup | Water |
1 | Egg | |
1 | tablespoon | White vinegar |
Directions
Recipe from: Famous Desserts Cookbook Makes 2 double-crust 9-inch pies and I single crust.
Combine flour, shortening, sugar, and salt. Mix well with fork or pastry blender. Set aside. Beat together water, egg, and vinegar. Add to flour mixture; mix until all ingredients are moistened. Form into ball and chill at least 15 minutes before shaping in desired shape. May be stored in refrigerator one week or frozen. Bake in 425 F. oven for 12 minutes for single crust.
