Fresh tomato sauce (#9)

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
2 larges Ripe tomatoes, about 8 oz.
. each
½ cup Tomato or vegetable juice
½ medium Red onion, minced
¼ cup Slivered fresh basil leaves
2 tablespoons Olive oil
1 each Clove garlic, minced
½ teaspoon Salt
x Freshly ground black pepper

Directions

1. Core the tomatoes; cut into ½-inch chunks. Transfer to a bowl.

2. Toss with the remaining ingredients. Let stand at least 30 minutes, tossing occasionally to blend flavors.
