1 | tablespoon | Sugar |
1 | pack | Active dry yeast |
3 | To 3 1/2 C unsifted all purpose flour | |

Directions
1. In 2-C glass measuring cup, combine water, oil, sugar, and yeast.
Set aside 5 minutes for yeast to dissolve, 2. In medium-size bowl, combine 3 C flour and the salt. Add yeast mixture to flour mixture and stir until soft dough forms, adding more flour, if necessary, to make dough manageable.
3. On lightly floured surface, knead dough 6 to 8 times. Invert bowl over ball of dough and let rest 45 minutes.
4. In large skillet, heat 1 inch of oil to 375'F on deep-fat thermometer. On floured surface, with rolling pin, roll out dough to a 14-inch square. Cut into sixteen 3½-inch squares. Fry dough squares until golden-about 3 minutes on each side. Drain well on paper towels.
