Gordo (mexican rice)

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 cup Uncooked rice
1 cup Sour cream
½ teaspoon Garlic powder
½ cup Parmesan cheese
cup Cheddar cheese; grated
½ cup Green onions; chopped
1 cup (8 oz.) green chilies
1 teaspoon Salt
¼ teaspoon Pepper

Directions

Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Cook rice. Blend in sour cream, chilies, onions, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Butter casserole (or use Pam).

Layer half rice mixture into casserole and half cheese. Repeat layering rice, then cheese. Bake covered for 35 minutes and uncovered for 5 minutes.
