Granary thyme scones

50 | grams | Butter; plus extra for |

2 | teaspoons | Chopped thyme or 1 teaspoon dried thyme |
2 | tablespoons | Milk |
1 | Egg; beaten |
Directions
1. Preheat the oven to Gas Mark 7/220 C/425 F.
2. Sift the self-raising flour with the baking powder and salt. Mix in the granary-type flour.
3. Rub the butter into the flours and stir in the thyme. Add the milk and egg to make a soft dough.
4. Roll out to 1cm (½ inch) thick and cut into rounds. Place on a well greased baking tray and bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes.
5. Cool a little and serve warm, heaped in a basket with sprigs of flowering thyme if you like.
