Haug family lemon snow

Ingredients

Env gelatin-dissolve in | ||
¼ | cup | Cold water |
1¼ | cup | Boiling water |
¾ | cup | Sugar |
½ | cup | Lemon juice |
2 | Egg whites, beaten | |
Sauce | ||
2 | cups | Milk |
1 | tablespoon | Flour |
2 | Egg yolks | |
4 | tablespoons | Sugar |
Vanilla |
Directions
Dissolve gelatine in cold water. Pour on that 1¼ cups boiling water, ¾ cup sugar and ½ cup lemon juice. Mix well. Let stand until almost set then beat. Add 2 beaten egg whites to beaten gelatine. Let set in refrigerator.
For Sauce: Mix milk, flour and sugar in saucepan and heat until it thickens a little, then add beaten egg yolks a little at a time. This should be stirred constantly. When the sauce is thick enough remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
