Ingredients

¼ | cup | Vegetable Shortening, Solid |
2 | cups | Self-Rising Flour |
⅞ | cup | Buttermilk -- LESS 2 Tbs. |
Directions
* Preheat oven to 450 F.
1. With the tips of your fingers or a pastry blender, cut the shortening into the flour until it resembles coarse meal. Add the buttermilk and stir in with a fork just until dough holds together.
2. Turn out onto lightly floured surface and knead a few times until smooth. Roll ½-inch thick and cut out with a floured biscuit cutter.
Transfer to baking sheets and bake 10 to 12 mins, until golden.
