Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
3 cups Cake flour
2½ teaspoon Baking powder
¾ teaspoon Salt
⅔ cup Shortening
1¾ cup Sugar
2 Eggs
1¼ cup Milk
1½ teaspoon Vanilla

Directions

Cream sugar and shortening and add the eggs and beat 2 minutes.

Mix flour, baking powder and salt and add alternately with the milk and vanilla. Pour into greased pan lined with wax paper and bake in 350 F oven for 30 -35 minutes for layers and 45 - 50 minutes if using 13x 9½ x 2 in. pan.
