Leek and ham quiche

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 each 9 or 10 in. pastry shell
½ pounds Leeks, white part only (about 2 cups) washed and thinly sliced
2 tablespoons Butter
1 cup Ham, cubed
¼ cup Cheddar or swiss cheese, grated
3 eaches Eggs, beaten
cup Milk or light cream
teaspoon Nutmeg
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Saute' leeks in butter until golden brown. Add ham. Place in pastry shell and sprinkle with cheese. Beat together eggs, milk, nutmeg, salt and pepper. Pour over leek and ham mixture. Bake 35 to 45 minutes. SOURCE:*Know Your Onions SHARED BY: Jim Bodle 8/92, 12/94
