cup SIFTED POWDERED SUGAR
1 cup BUTTER
1 each EGG
1 teaspoon VANILLA
½ teaspoon ALMOND FLAVORING
cup FLOUR
1 teaspoon SODA
1 teaspoon CREAM OF TARTAR

Directions

MIX SUGAR AND BUTTER. ADD EGG AND FLAVORINGS. MIX THOROUGHLY. MIX FLOUR SODA AND CREAM OF TARTAR. MIX INTO SUGAR MIXTURE. REFRIGERATE FOR 2 TO 3 HOURS. HEAT OVEN TO 375 F. DIVIDE DOUGH IN HALF AND ROLL TO A THICKNESS OF 3/16" ON A FLOURED SURFACE. CUT WITH COOKIE CUTTER TO DESIRED SHAPE.

PLACE ON LIGHTLY GREASED COOKIE SHEETS. Recipe makes a very tender dough.
