Miso shiru (miso soup)

½ | cup | Miso |
½ | Cake of tofu | |
5 | cups | Dashi or chicken stock |
1 | Green onion; finely chopped | |
1 | tablespoon | Sugar |
Directions
Slice the ½ cake of tofu into 1" cubes. Bring soup stock to a boil and add the miso and tofu. Bring the soup back to a boil, turn heat down and simmer 5 minutes. Remove from heat and add green onions.
Serve immediately. (Shig Iseri recipe)
