Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
3 cups Large white onions, sliced
½ cup Vinegar
cup Mayonnaise, (to 1/2)
1 teaspoon Salt
teaspoon Favorite herb (maybe dill or celery seed)
Lettuce, optional
Capers, optional

Directions

Put the onions in a glass bowl, add the vinegar, and then add enough water to cover, soak for 3 hours, drain, add the mayonnaise, salt, and herbs.

Serve as a side dish or over lettuce as a salad. Salad can be topped with capers. Keeps in refrigerator for weeks.
