Ingredients

3 | cups | Large white onions, sliced |
½ | cup | Vinegar |
⅓ | cup | Mayonnaise, (to 1/2) |
1 | teaspoon | Salt |
1½ | teaspoon | Favorite herb (maybe dill or celery seed) |
Lettuce, optional | ||
Capers, optional |
Directions
Put the onions in a glass bowl, add the vinegar, and then add enough water to cover, soak for 3 hours, drain, add the mayonnaise, salt, and herbs.
Serve as a side dish or over lettuce as a salad. Salad can be topped with capers. Keeps in refrigerator for weeks.
