Peach or apricot muffins

2 cups All-Purpose Flour -- sifted
cup Brown Sugar -- firmly
Packed
3 teaspoons Baking Powder
¼ teaspoon Baking Soda
¼ teaspoon Ground Allspice
cup Butter -- melted
1 Egg -- beaten
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
1 cup Milk, Or 1 Cup Sour Cream
cup Fresh Peaches Or Apricots --
Peeled and chopped

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 F. Combine sifted flour with dry ingredients and sift twice more. Stir melted butter, beaten egg, and vanilla into milk or sour cream. Add to flour mixture, stirring just enough to moisten. Add chopped peaches or apricots. Stir only until mixed.

Batter should look lumpy. Fill greased muffin cups ⅔ full. Bake for 25 mins or until golden brown. Yield: 10 to 12 muffins.
