Peanutty caramel squares

Ingredients
Quantity | Ingredient | |

⅓ | cup | Butter or margarine |
½ | cup | Sugar |
1 | cup | Sifted all purpose flour |
¼ | teaspoon | Salt |
¼ | teaspoon | Baking soda |
4 | Snicker bars or 10 from the fun pack | |
2 | tablespoons | Butter or margarine |
2 | tablespoons | Milk |
½ | cup | Shredded coconut |
Few drops almond extract |
Directions
Beat first two ingredients, Sift the dry ingredients together and add. Mix until crumbly. Reserve ½ cup crumbs for topping. Sprinkle remaining crumb mixture on bottom of 9x9x2 baking pan. Pat down firmly. Bake in 350 degree oven, 12 minutes. Melt the snickers with 2 tbsp butter and milk in a saucepan over very low heat. Stir in the coconut and almond extract. Spread chocolate mixture evenly over baked crumbed mixture. Bake for 12 mins longer. Watch these you just want them golden. Cool on wire rack. Cut into squares. Makes about 16 squares.
