Chocolate caramel squares

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 pack (14-oz) caramels
cup Evaporated milk
¼ cup Butter or margarine; melted
1 pack German chocolate cake mix
1 pack (6-oz) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup Chopped nuts

Directions

Melt caramels with ⅓ cup milk. Set aside. Grease & flour a 13x9-inch pan.

In large bowl, pour cake mix, melted butter, ⅓ cup milk & ½ cup nuts.

Mix by hand until mix is the consistency of pie crust. Press half of mixture into bottom of pan. Bake at 350 for 6 minutes. Remove from oven & while hot, sprinkle with chocolate chips, then ½ cup nuts. Top wiht melted caramel mixture. Take remaining dough, crumble into small pieces & sprinkle over caramel. Bake 15-16 minutes longer. Cool & cut into squares.
