Pork chops with apples

Ingredients

9 eaches Pork loin chops, 3/4 inch
Salt
Pepper
tablespoon Butter
9 eaches Maraschino cherries
6 tablespoons Brown sugar
1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon Ground ginger

Directions

Brown chops slowly in heavy skillet; place in shallow baking dish one layer deep. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Core unpeeled apples and slice into ½ inch rings. Add butter to skillet in which chops were browned and saute apple rings until slightly tender. Place one ring on top of each chop. Cover and bake at 300 F. 45 - 60 minutes.

Remove from oven. Place cherry in center of each apple ring; sprinkle all with mixture of brown sugar, cinnamon, and ginger. Baste with drippings to moisten sugar. Finish baking. uncovered, in 350 F.

oven 15 to 20 minutes.
