Reising's poor boy pudding

1 | Loaf Reising's Poor Boy bread | |
2 | cups | Sugar |
6 | Eggs | |
2 | quarts | Milk |
1 | can | Evaporated milk |
1 | teaspoon | Vanilla |
1 | Apple |
Directions
Cream sugar into well beaten eggs; add milk, evaporated milk, vanilla and a shaved apple. Pour mixture into a baking dish. Cut the loaf of bread into 2 inch slices and butter well on both sides. Press flat side down into the mixture in the baking dish and thoroughly soak the pieces. Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven until golden brown. Serves 6 to 8.
