Rice with chicken and cheese

Ingredients

1 | Onion; chopped | |
½ | teaspoon | Salt |
½ | cup | Uncooked rice |
½ | cup | Cut-up cheese |
1 | tablespoon | Oil or shortening |
2½ | cup | Water or broth |
1½ | cup | Cut-up cooked chicken |
Directions
Lightly brown onion in oil; add salt & water or broth. Heat to boiling and add rice. Cover and cook over low heat 50 minutes. Add chicken to rice.
Heat. Sprinkle cheese on each serving.
