Directions
This chewy, starchy rice, also called "sticky rice" and sometimes "sweet rice" because it is used in desserts, is always an ingredient in the banquet dessert called Eight-tresure Pudding. It can also be used in meatballs, stuffings, and soups. As one of its alternate names implies, glutinous rice becomes sticky when cooked. It is used for that property and also because it takes on a peraly look when steamed. Glutinous rice can be purchased in Asian groceries. It will keep for very long periods of time in a covered container on the pantry shelf.
