Simple applesauce cake

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 cup Shortening
2 cups Brown sugar
1 Egg
3½ C.flour
2 teaspoons Soda; dissolved in:
1 cup Warm Applesauce
1 teaspoon Vanilla
2 teaspoons Cinnamon
1 teaspoon Ground cloves

Directions

Mix shortening and sugar until fluffy. Add egg and stir well. Combine flour, cinnamon and cloves. Stir in soda/applesauce mixture, vanilla and then dry ingredients. Bake at 350 for 40-50 minutes.
