Directions
If Carole is still on the quest for the perfect chocolate chip cookie recipe this might be the one. It was in Wednesday's Ottawa Citizen & billed as Smartie Pants or Positively-the Absolutely-Best-Chocolate-Chip Cookies.
Preheat oven to 375 F.
In large bowl, beat butter until soft. Add vanilla & both sugars and beat to mix. Beat in eggs, one at a time.
In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda & salt. Gradually add flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips or candies & nuts if using.
Drop by a rounded teaspoon on to ungreased cookie sheets & bake for 8-10 minutes, or until golden & light brown around the edges. (Note: if you chill the dough before putting the cookies in the oven, they will have a nicer golden brown color.)
