Surprise brownies

1 | pack | German Chocolate cake mix |
⅔ | cup | Evaporated milk |
¾ | cup | Butter or margarine; melted |
6 | ounces | Chocolate chips |
¾ | cup | Pecan pieces |
14 | ounces | Pkg. caramel candy; (unwrapping the carmels is time consuming but we usually make a game out of it) |

Mix German chocolate cake mix, ⅓ cup evaporated milk and melted butter together. Spread half the mixture in 9 x 12 inch pan. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes. Sprinkle on top of baked cake, the chocolate chips and nuts. Melt carmels with ⅓ cup evaporated milk. Pour over chips and nuts. Spread other half of cake mixture over everything. Use a wet off-set spatula to make this easier. Bake at 350 for another 15 minutes. Let cool and refrigerate 30 minutes. Cut into small squares. Very rich.
