Surprise snowballs

Ingredients

¾ | cup | Butter or margarine |
½ | cup | Sugar |
¼ | teaspoon | Salt |
1 | Egg | |
½ | teaspoon | Vanilla |
1¾ | cup | Flour |
M&M's; or Jelly beans | ||
¾ | cup | Sifted powdered sugar |
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In large mixer bowl beat butter or margarine till softened. Add sugar & salt and beat till fluffy. Add egg and vanilla.
Beat well. With mixer on low speed gradually beat in flour till well mixed.
Shape dough into 1" balls. Press a piece of desired candy in center of each and shape so that you can't see the candy. Place 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees about 15 minutes or till edges are golden. Place powdered sugar in a plastic bag. With pancake turner transfer 2 or 3 cookies to the bag. Gently shake cookies in sugar till coated. Cool on wire rack. When cool, gently shake cookies again in powdered sugar.
