Quantity | Ingredient | |
---|---|---|
1 | pack | (17 oz) frozen puff pastry (2 sheets); thawed |
4 | Sml Golden Delicious apples; (peeled, cored, sliced thin) | |
4 | tablespoons | Sugar |
2 | tablespoons | Unsalted butter |
Creme Fraiche or French Vanilla Ice Cream for garnish; if desired |
Directions
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Roll out one sheet of pastry to ¼" to ⅛" thick on a floured work surface. Cut out two 6" rounds. Repeat with second sheet, forming four rounds total. Place rounds on a heavy, parchment-lined cookie sheet. Using one apple per tart, overlap apple slices on each round in concentric circles, forming a flower-like design (or any design of your choice). Sprinkle each tart with 1 Tablespoon sugar and dot with ½ Tablespoon butter. Bake for about 22 to 25 minutes. Remove to plates for serving and garnish if desired. Serve while warm.
