Tomale pie

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 Onion; chopped
1 pounds Ground beef
2 tablespoons Oil
1 can (16 oz) stewed tomatoes
1 can (17 oz) whole kernel corn; undrained
1 cup Sour cream
1 cup Cornmeal; (or masa)
1 can (14 oz) small pitted ripe olive
2 teaspoons Salt
1 tablespoon Chili powder
½ teaspoon Cumin
2 cups Jack cheese
1 Jar of salsa
1 can (15 oz) red kidney beans
½ tablespoon Chicken base

Directions

Lightly brown onion and beef in oil. Add all other ingredients except cheese. Mix very well.

Sprinkle with cheese, cover and simmer until done. Using a Dutch oven (the best way), 20 minutes with cornmeal, 10-15 with mesa. Using regular oven add 10 minutes at 350°F. For a longer lasting package, substitute TVP (textured vegetable protein) for the ground beef.
