Wild mushrooms tuscan style

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
2 tablespoons Extra-virgin olive oil
½ cup Onion(s)
Sliced or chopped
8 ounces Mushrooms (any variety)
1 teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Sugar
1 tablespoon Soy sauce
½ teaspoon Dried savory
2 teaspoons Cornstarch mixed with
¼ cup Cold water

Directions

Place the oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and saute until they become slightly browned, 2-3 min. Add ½ cup water, then add the mushrooms and cover the skillet. Simmer for 30 min. The mushrooms will greatly reduce in size and be completely covered with liquid.

Add the salt, sugar, soy sauce, and savory and stir. Simmer for another 5 min, then stir in the cornstarch mixture, blend until thickened, and serve.
