Apple fritters

Ingredients

12 slices Peeled apples -- thin
Slices
5 tablespoons Sugar
2 tablespoons Brandy
cup Flour -- sifted
½ teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Baking powder
1 Egg
1 cup Milk
2 tablespoons Melted butter
Butter -- for frying

Directions

Sprinkle the apple slices with 4 tablespoons of the sugar and the brandy. Set aside. Sift the flour, salt and baking powder into a bowl. Beat the egg, milk and melted butter together and add to the flour mixture gradually, beating until smooth. Heat a little butter in a large skillet. The next operation must be donequickly.
