¾ | cup | Water |
2 | mediums | Onions, cut into wedges |
2 | mediums | Green or sweet red |
Peppers, diced | ||

½ | teaspoon | Dried thyme, crushed |
⅛ | teaspoon | Ground pepper |
1 | pounds | Beef round steak cut into thin strips |
¼ | cup | Water |
2 | tablespoons | Flour |
2 | cups | Hot, cooked egg noodles |
Directions
Trim separable fat from meat and cut meat into 1-inch cubes. Set aside.
In large saucepan stir together beer, the ¾ cup water, bay leaf, ½ teaspoon salt, thyme and ground pepper. Stir in meat. Bring to a boil.
Reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 55 minutes. Add onions and green or red peppers and simmer about 20 minutes or till beef is tender.
Remove bay leaf.
Stir together the ¼ cup water and flour. Stir flour mixture into meat mixture. Cook and stir till thickened and bubbly. Cook and stir for 2 minutes more. Serve over hot egg noodles.
