Beef and brew

Ingredients

¾ cup Lite beer
¾ cup Water
2 mediums Onions, cut into wedges
2 mediums Green or sweet red
Peppers, diced
1 Bay leaf
½ teaspoon Dried thyme, crushed
teaspoon Ground pepper
1 pounds Beef round steak cut into thin strips
¼ cup Water
2 tablespoons Flour
2 cups Hot, cooked egg noodles

Directions

Trim separable fat from meat and cut meat into 1-inch cubes. Set aside.

In large saucepan stir together beer, the ¾ cup water, bay leaf, ½ teaspoon salt, thyme and ground pepper. Stir in meat. Bring to a boil.

Reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 55 minutes. Add onions and green or red peppers and simmer about 20 minutes or till beef is tender.

Remove bay leaf.

Stir together the ¼ cup water and flour. Stir flour mixture into meat mixture. Cook and stir till thickened and bubbly. Cook and stir for 2 minutes more. Serve over hot egg noodles.
