Brownie-walnut pie

1 9 inch pie single-crust

Vanilla or coffee ice cream

In a large mixing bowl stir together eggs, sugar, flour, and vanilla. Stir in the cooled chocolate and walnuts. Pour filling into a pastry-lined 9-inch pie plate.

Bake in a 350 F oven for 50 to 55 mins or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack. Serve warm with chocolate sauce. If desired, top with ice cream.

Makes 8 servings.

CHOCOLATE SAUCE: In a heavy small saucepan melt ½ cup margarine or butter and 2 squares (2 oz) unsweetened chocolate over low heat, stirring frequently. Stir in 2 cups sifted powdered sugar and one 5-ounce can (⅔ cup) evaporated milk. Bring to boiling; reduce heat.

Simmer, uncovered, for 8 to 10 mins, stirring frequently. Remove from heat. Stir in 1 tsp vanilla. Serve warm. Makes about 1⅔ cups.
