Cheese thumbprints

Ingredients

1¾ | cup | Flour, all-purpose |
2 | teaspoons | Baking powder |
½ | teaspoon | Salt |
½ | cup | Butter (or marg.) |
½ | cup | Sugar, dark brown; firmly packed |
⅓ | cup | Peanut butter, creamy |
1 | Egg; beaten | |
1 | cup | Cheese, Cheddar; shredded |
1 | teaspoon | Vanilla extract |
Jam, strawberry |
Directions
Combine dry ingredients in a large bowl and set aside. Cream butter and sugar; blend in peanut butter, beaten egg, cheese, and vanilla.
Add to dry ingredients and blend well. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on lightly greased baking sheet. Make thumbprint indentation on each cookie. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.
Remove from oven and fill with jam.
