3 Eggs, separated
1 cup Sugar, divided
1 Lemon, grated and squeezed
Small piece of butter

Directions

Beat the egg whites very stiff. Gradually add ½ of the sugar. Then in a saucepan, beat up the 3 yolks, add the other ½ cup sugar, lemon juice, rind and butter and cook until thick, stirring constantly. Add the beaten white mixture. Put into a crust and bake until set. Brown under fire or broiler.
